FleishmanHillard Malaysia scores MARKies Awards

The MARKies recognizes unique campaigns on the basis of creative ideas and the innovative use of media. FH Kuala Lumpur in partnership with Nestle’s MILO was awarded the Best Idea – Public Relations for the wildly successful Breakfast Movement campaign. Based on the insight was that 30 percent of school aged children in Malaysia frequently miss breakfast, the campaign worked to deepen the relevance of breakfast for mothers and children. The multi-year, multi-strategy initiative enlisted journalists, popular bloggers, promotional activities, and social media to engage over 5,000 mothers and children on the benefits of breakfast through educational activities, and garnered over 100,000 pledges to adopt breakfast as a habit. FH-KL’s win in this category is a testament to the innovative culture of FleishmanHillard that emphasizes creativity, originality, and attention to detail. The movement amplified with a grand finale, “Malaysia Breakfast Day”, an annual affair, based on an “action speaks louder than words” concept to celebrate the breakfast cause with the biggest breakfast gathering. Success from the campaign led to the second year of Malaysia Breakfast Day in 2014. The Kuala Lumpur team also took home the silver for Public Relations Agency of the Year, the crowning category of the evening.
